Exhibition "Through Time"
In the heritage setting of the former cheese factory, the exhibition "Through Time" showcases another traditional skill: yarn work.
Through an immersive experience, discover a genuine loom, an ancient relic of daily life in bygone days, where nothing was wasted and everything was made by hand. Weaving was an art, but also a necessity, like making cheese, bread, or clothes.
Around the loom, the exhibition also features:
Delicate crocheted pieces made by the daughters of the Perron family, often used to decorate rural homes in the Lac-Saint-Jean region,
Traditional embroideries , symbols of personal expression and artisanal patience,
Ancient tools such as needles, bobbins and shuttles, which tell the complete cycle of the thread, from fiber to fabric.
Period books, everyday objects, and a one-off demonstration will enrich this sensitive and inspiring experience.
The exhibition "Through Time" is a tribute to simple gestures, skilled hands, and the beauty of forgotten knowledge. A wonderful opportunity to discover a little-known aspect of our local history, linked to the artisanal spirit that still inhabits the walls of the old cheese factory.
